TAG Submission to the National Infrastructure Commission


The President has today (9th February) submitted two documents to the National Infrastructure Commission in response to the consultation on the National Infrastructure Assessment consultation.

Attached are our response and an Appendix document including our response to the ICE this time last year, the Evidence we submitted to the House of Commons Transport Committee in December 2016 and the joint response we did with ADEPT on Resilience.

12 months after last winter’s floods the rebuild of roads, structures and defences continues apace. Cumbria and Calderdale became the UK’s focus of the impact of intense weather and repeat events that demand fresh approaches. New HMEP Strategic Steering Group - TAG representation

TAG has secured a seat at the table on the newly formed HMEP Strategic Steering Group (SSG). Dominic Proud, Chair of TAG’s National Transport Committee attended the first meeting of the SSG on 1st December 2016. The SSG comprises of representatives from DfT, Local Partnerships, NHT, LGA, CIHT, UKRLG, HTMA, ADEPT along with TAG. The remit of the group is to assume responsibility for the strategic guidance of HMEP, oversee the transitional arrangement of HMEP products to deliver partners and continue to champion efficiency and good practice across the industry.
